Yes, I work for a computer company, and yes, I love technology. However, it has to be used with discretion. Why do vehicles have to be supplemented with DVD players and game players? I refuse to introduce video to the car. Granted, I have to pay attention when I am driving, and I tell Annie that. However, we have a great time when we drive. We play games. We play games that require our minds. We interact during this time. We think. We talk. We both love it.

We went to Disneyland years ago with ex-in-laws. Annie watched the movie for a while, and then got bored. She wanted to play the games that we normally played on a trip. I think I permanently creased my face with the smile that brought me. I don't want her to feel the numbness that comes from watching something, and deprives her of the brain activity that results from games that make her think. She has a great gift, and I want her to use it and expand on it.

When I was six years old, I moved 2,000 miles. We drove to Missouri in a U-Haul towing a truck with a camper. We were piled in the cab, and we played Car Bingo for hours and hours. We had a blast, and we survived without TV.

I'll leave it at that...

Freakin' TV....
