David,

I can only say WOW.  I am sorry (?) to hear that this person is a friend of yours.  If someone talked to me that way I’d tell them to talk a nice long walk off the the shortest damn pier I could find for them.

I can say that I don’t even know you from Joe Blow down the street, but the love that you have for your daughter rings loud and clear in your posts.  It is actually the one thing that drew me to your blog and gets me to keep coming back.

Keep doing what you are doing.

Amen to what Wendy said with a definite STFU to those who would dare to tell you how to raise your child.  There is a definite butt-in-ski movement in this country that seems to make folks feel good about sticking their noses where they don’t belong.  Thank goodness you have the intestinal fortitude (the guts) to sack up and set these people in their place when they get lippy with how you’re raising your well-adjusted happy young lady.

I got your back, homey.

oh great, now everyone knows my comment pseudonym. AND that i hate spiders. Humpf.

(Btw, I heard that you were an amazing host toTHREE little beasties—who were sorely disappointed not to find any banana slugs—and were wonderfully gracious and fun and appropriate in every way.)
