That is surely one thing that I do NOT miss about the Bay Area! Thankfully people in Oregon drive really well in the rain. Our problems arise when the sun shines. People in the darn State always lose their sunglasses during the winter so that first week of Spring is total hell.
So far my visits to Oregon have been pretty much rain free. I do realize from conversations with locals that is an anomaly.
You know, if you really want to have the experience of driving (and wrecking) on (and beside) the road with people who just cannot properly operate a moving motor vehicle, you should visit Lexington, KY.
My stepdad gave me one of my first driving lessons in a university parking lot in a driving blizzard. It ROCKED.
And? Yikes. Does she have like a frequent wrecker’s card?
Driving on ice was fun. It was one of the few ways to experience G force in Iowa while I was growing up. Big parking lot + car = broadies!
